Leftovers

These needle cases are the cutest things; I'm sure I won't make any, but wouldn't they be lovely Valentine's Day gifts?

I forgot to show this pretty votive holder I bought while we were in Baltimore; I got it at Ten Thousand Villages.  It goes perfectly in my sunroom.  The sad thing is that they also had a sun catcher/mobile that was similar, but when we went back to buy it, someone else had already gotten it, so I missed out.

I've slept late the past two mornings so I've had to take my beach photos after work; luckily the sun sets later now, and I got to see this pretty view:

Only three more work days this week, and then I start my gifted class on Saturday.  The schedule is a little different from the other four classes; only two Saturdays, and the rest are on Tuesdays and Thursdays after work.   At first I didn't think I'd like going after working all day, but now I'm thinking that at least this way I won't lose a bunch of weekends.  I'll have to see how it goes.  Either way, I'll be done by the first of April.

Now, I'm off to work some more on this baby:

Coming right along, isn't it?  Details found here.

  1. I have really been enjoying your pictures of the beach and appreciate the appearance at different times of day. That's a beautiful sunset.

I've been looking at that cowl pattern for awhile now. I can't wait to see yours finished. The 60 degree weather we have been having has sort of taken the wind out of winter knitting sail.

And, yes, it's better to work late twice a week than to give up every single Saturday. It may not feel that way at first, but I assure you, you'll appreciate it when your first full weekend off comes around.

    1. Thanks! I have really enjoyed taking the time to notice the beach, probably because I missed so much beach time last summer due to my broken foot. The cowl is easy but you're right, it probably won't get used til next winter. Going in the gift trunk, so that's okay too.

  2. Funny how we don't like the thought of putting in the extra time after a work day. Once you do it though it seems like such a gift. You'll enjoy your weekends off.

I am constantly being advised to buy the thing I like when I see it. But I don't always listen to advice...and like you I miss out.

    1. I agree, I will enjoy whole weekends better even if I am wiped out a couple of times here and there. I may order the wind chime, still deciding.

  3. I don't know how you manage to do so much professional development. I am SO tired from teaching that I'm not doing anywhere near as much as I should.

  4. Deb, you have a tough group all day, and I only have that group for an hour a day. You know how it is, some years we have more energy than others. This has been two good years in a row, so that has helped.

  5. That is a very pretty votive. I taught kindergarten for 7 years, then did substitution for a couple of years before going back to administrative work at the American school my kids attend. I definitely much prefer to keep going during the day and having weekends free. Once I get home any day of the week, it is hard to get me back out again. Wishing you all the best, Tammy
