The finches and I have been enjoying the
bird feeder. Until this guy showed up.
He/she has chewed off most of the perches for the birds. See those green plastic pieces there? Squirrel
destruction. I should have known better than to buy plastic, but I hadn't really noticed squirrels around here before. News traveled fast though.
I decided to help Steve out with the yard by taking over this little spot. Here's what it looked like this morning.
After clearing the grass/weeds.
And with the new impatiens and edging. I'm not sure if this spot gets too much sun for these flowers, but since they're great at spreading out, I'm hoping they'll work out here. If not, I'll move them to a shadier spot and plant something else. Time will tell.
Now I'm off to clean off and run a few errands. Not much resting going on for me today, but that's okay. I definitely had a fair amount of beach sitting this week, so I can't complain.
Damn squirrel.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold and rainy here today, Rose. I'm hoping to see the sun again, soon.
Nice work in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWe have squirrels - big time! One bird feeder has a stove pipe around the post so they can't climb up. We find that the upturned saucer-type baffles don't deter them at all. They just swing like acrobats to get at the seeds.
It's very cold here right now. Glorious snow on the mountains in the past couple of days! Good spring skiing.
