I just got home from a baby shower and thanks in part to some good red wine, I'm feeling so content. I almost always feel that way after hanging out with a group of smart women; my tribe, in a way. I had a lovely week (even though I was sick part of the time) overall, I'm LOVING my students and my work, and things are going well with my girls. What's not to love?
The baby shower was for a girl I work with (she's 29, so not actually a "girl") whom I think is just the cutest thing. She's the recipient of the baby blanket I worked on all summer and boy, am I glad to pass that on to her. It's funny, as I was washing and packing it up, I couldn't believe how I kept finding fault with the way I arranged the squares. What is my problem?
Anyway, after working until 9 p.m. last night (Middle School Open House), I'm very happy that it's Friday night and I don't have too much on the agenda for the weekend. All I've got is the library book sale, brunch with my husband, and a long overdue haircut appointment. And grading fifty science notebooks. If the weather is good this weekend, I'll be hitting the beach for a spell as well. Hope you have some good times planned too!

You're much too hard on yourself...that blanket was just lovely.
ReplyDeleteGrading 50 books - yikes! Can you do it on the beach?
Sounds like a plan Stephanie! Rose the blanket is wonderful. She'll love it!
