The Waiting Game

I spent a lovely afternoon and evening with friends after work today, eating and knitting, while listening to the wind blow and the rain come down. We are on hurricane wait and see mode in our coastal area, depending on which model you trust. Either way, we have had rain most of the week with much more on the way. At the least, we are going to have some tidal flooding, and it may get worse. So most of us are stocking up on supplies and putting the deck furniture in the garage. The concern is that trees will be at risk for uprooting, due to the saturated ground, something we dealt with during a nor'easter a few years ago, but there isn't much that can be done to prevent it, other than wait and watch.

Last night, I met Steve at a local brewing company, O'Connor's, for an oyster roast and micro-brewed beer; a great midweek treat, even with the rain. Delicious.

Hope you're seeing some blue skies!

  2. Looks like the hurricane is on its way far out to sea. It has brought us cooler temps and less humidity. I am so thankful.
