Grateful

Another hurricane is passing us by; we are seeing some strong wind and stinging rain, but nothing as bad as it could have been. We tend to get complacent every time we are spared, but I am grateful for another false alarm.

Speaking of false alarms, I spent some time in the ER Friday night with chest pains, but it turned out to be an anxiety attack. I have spent the weekend recovering from being up until 3:00 a.m. and feeling stupid for succumbing to anxiety again. I slept most of yesterday and I'm hoping to accomplish something today so my weekend isn't a total wash.

This was a bright spot in my email:

I can't wait to head up to Rhinebeck! I have two sweaters in timeout that are close to completion, so I may just have a Rhinebeck sweater for the first time, but if not, I will have my beautiful All the Shades of Truth wrap to wear.

  1. I'm glad to hear that everything worked out well health and weather wise. Take it easy today and relax! So jealous about Rhinebeck

  3. Don't ever feel stupid Rose, what if it was indeed your heart? You did the right thing in going to the ER. I am so glad you are okay, rest is exactly what you need. I am so glad we were spared too, well all of the US for that matter. Again, I wish I was going to Rhinebeck, maybe next year but I have been saying that for a few years now haven't IT.
    Take good care of yourself,

  4. I've done the same thing! Usually, it's anxiety, but once my EKG was so abnormal that they did a full work-up. It still turned out to be anxiety, but you never know. For me, the anxiety is always about work. I'm trying hard not to go there this year.

  5. Thanks ladies! I tried a different approach today, more laid back in school, then treated myself to dinner with a friend. Steve has been irritating me but I am aware that I may be blaming him for no reason, so I thought I'd build in a little de-stress time before coming home. Unfortunately, a coworker was taken by ambulance to the ER today and another teacher friend has spent the day in an ER for probable kidney stones. This seems like a rough start to the year for teachers!
