Weekend

Normally I'd be pretty excited for an impending weekend, but I know I have a lot of homework to do and I'm kind of dreading it. It was really nice to be back at work this week. The kids missed me ( well, some of them did), and I missed them (well, most of them). In addition, we had our SOL writing tests this week, so there was a lot of quiet time. SOL stands for Standards of Learning here in Virginia and it's basically an end of course test. Of course, it isn't the end of the course yet, but I'd say that's the least of Virginia's issues right now.

Proctoring exams is a great time for knitting, so I was able to finish the Thermis cowl today. I immediately cast on for another one; not only do two of my friends have birthdays this month, I'm trying to justify some recent yarn purchases. I don't know why I'm buying yarn right now, especially with next month's yarn crawl plans, but there you have it. I bought a couple of skeins from ADD Knitter's destash sale and I ordered some Spud & Chloe yarn from Knitting Addiction. Now to be fair, the S&C yarn is for commission knitting--my cousin wants me to knit a baby boy sweater for a dear friend of hers, so I don't think that should count.

I'm a little bummed that I haven't been down to the beach in over ten days, but I hope to remedy that sad situation this weekend. I'll be sure to post photos when I do! Happy TGIF to all!

  1. What a perfect day, knitting at work and ordering yarn, what more could you ask for.
    Happy Friday,

    1. So true! Doesn't help my case when I say teaching is hard work though, does it?
