Diagnosis

in answer to the last post's title, I have a nasty sinus infection; I finally went to the doctor and he put me on a Z-pack and with a little luck, things should start improving at a rapid pace.

Thanks so much for the button advice! I used the pink ones, as suggested unanimously by the lovely Mere and Liz. I finished this knit while listening to the podcasts of Stash and Burn, which was kind of like listening in on a phone conversation between knitters. It made a welcome change from trying to watch anything on television.

One benefit (?) of listening to the podcasts is that I am already thinking about my knitting more. For instance, I didn't realize that Veera Valimiki had so many patterns available and that she doesn't just design shawls! And instead of buying new yarn to make a cowl for a friend's birthday gift, I shopped my stash! I cast on for Scrumptious using a skein of Dream in Color Classy that I bought at Brooklyn General sometime last year. It's in a lovely grass green color called Spring Tickle. The only odd thing is that I thought this friend's birthday was this month when in fact it isn't until September 30! Oh well, at least I'm not waiting until the last minute, am I?

Isn't it lovely? Scrumptious, even?

  1. I'm a huge fan of Veera's sweaters. Their elegant simplicity and beautiful necklines captivate me (so imagine my shock when I opened Ravelry this morning and discovered my latest design on the same top 20 list as hers!) Check out Veera's "Before Dark"--I just love it. I definitely need more knitting time.

  2. It's a beautiful color! It'll be the perfect fall gift in the color of a granny smith apple.

  3. Rose, so glad you are feeling a bit better, sinus infections are so horrible, you can't even think with all that pressure in your head. Love the green and because you are making it so early for your friend you are looking extremely organized. Happy knitting and feel better.

  4. I'm also vulnerable to sinus infections -- and they are indeed nasty. I'm glad you've started treating it.

That yarn is really sumptuous. I love knitting well in advance. Writing deadlines don't bother me at all, but I really stress out over knitting deadlines.
