I don't understand the decision retailers made to open up on Thanksgiving. Of course, I don't understand the Black Friday concept much either. As a matter of fact, about twenty years ago I gave it a whirl; after all, so many people told me how much fun they had doing it, so I thought maybe I was missing out on an adventure. Nope. Once was enough for me. I ended up stressed, tired, and headachy, not necessarily in that order.
So how am I using my Black Friday time? I put on some Christmas music and cleaned the floors in the kitchen, sunroom, both bathrooms, and the living room. I dusted the cobwebs off of the ceilings, washed some clothes, and now I'm going to sit down and knit awhile.
What are you doing today?
Merry Christmas

Well I cooked all day yesterday, and then worked a twelve hour on call shift. It's now 5PM on Black Friday and outside of buying my daughter a new battery for her MacBook (online), I've not shopped. In fact, I'm still in my jammies snuggling with Leo(after I gave him a bath with shampoo guaranteed to improve his hugability). I have eaten leftovers, am currently watching Arkansas/LSU battle it out on the playing field while I knit on Bella's mitts and plan to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy on Encore tonight...in HD..in last night's jammies...all three movies in a row if I can stay awake.
ReplyDeleteI did brush my teeth.
Hope you had a great holiday! Enjoy your crowd free weekend.
I'm knitting - what else? But this is just a regular kind of day for me...nothing Black or holiday-ish. And definitely no shopping.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your long weekend.
