Move to dry ground, girlfriend. While I'm worried about your foot, right now, I'm more worried you stay dry. Run from the water...then worry about the foot. Sorry about the news all the way around.
Sorry about your foot, And also a big sorry about Irene, she is missing us in Florida. Get lots of water and flashlights so at least you can knit if the power goes out.
Here's a wish for unexpected gifts coming in on the tide of difficulties... May your foot heal quickly and the storm weaken.
Stay safe Rose! I've been thinking about you!
I've been thinking about you. We had to deal with Hurricane Isabel when we lived in DC and it was pretty bad. I don't want to think about how much worse things might be for you living so close to the coast. Take care, stock up on water and batteries (and knitting, of course, and stay in touch if at all possible. Hope your foot gets better quickly.
Thank you all for your well-wishes. Of course, I have loads of yarn, needles, and patterns, so I should be fine on that front. Also have plenty of water, but unfortunately, just a few teeny flashlights. But since no children are here, Steve and I will be fine. I may even go a bit inland to stay with my folks, but Steve is staying here to keep an eye on things. I'm thinking positive mostly. As for the foot, I'm either having the surgery on Sept 2 or 9, depending on the doctors' schedules. And of course, I won't be in touch if we lose power, cause my laptop is old and is only able to stay on for approx 20 minutes with battery power.
We also have a ridiculous amount of food and books, so I'm pretty sure we'll be just fine. Thanks again!
