Brought To You by the Letter S
A scarf for a friend's upcoming birthday. She's a fan of pink and green. This is the Ole! yarn I bought at MDS&W; I liked the colors but it's not a very soft yarn. I think she'll like it but probably won't like wearing it.

I know what you mean about parents who suddenly care! I have a couple students who have been more than 50% truant -- and now they want to pass their classes!
ReplyDeleteThe scarf is so pretty. It looks soft, but looks can be deceiving!
The pink and green yarn reminds me of apple blossoms. Too bad it's not as soft as it looks. I'm sure it'll work fine with a coat - so pretty it has to be worn on the outside!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors. Don't give up hope though, when you give it a soak, add hair conditioner to the rinse. Maybe that will soften it up. Lots of different wools bloom into something softer after a wash (think Noro). I'm charmed by the halo of that yarn. It looks soft and inviting, so hopefully it will be. If not, well then Stephanie makes a good point...
ReplyDeleteWHen I was growing up, SOL meant Sh*t Outta Luck. Now you have me wondering what it means to have a science SOL test. lololol.
Yeah, when Virginia first came out with the Standards of Learning Tests, many people noted the unfortunate acronym. Gotta love bureacrats! Especially the ones in education....Thanks for the suggestion about the conditioner, it can't hurt!
