Craft-OV-Rama

I love fall, crafting, and friends. On Sunday, I had all three in one place.
My first Craft-O-Rama.

Ten friends crammed into my cottage on a Sunday afternoon.

Making fleece tied blankets.

New mamas and empty nest mamas.

Some were serious about the craft, and some were only there for the camaraderie.

Focus and concentration in such a small space.

I had craft magazines and books for the ones who didn't want to craft that day. (In the teaching world, this is known as tiering your assignments to the students' readiness levels. See? I never stop.)

And of course there was food. Potluck food, the best kind.

I will definitely do this again.

  1. I've made a half dozen of those blankets and not only are they fun, they're durable and cozy. You'll appreciate that when winter has its icy grip on your cottage.

    The pot luck looks tasty.

  2. What a lovely day you all had. And cozy fleecy blankets, too! Friends to chat with and goodies to eat...couldn't get any better.

  3. Your post reminds me of a quilt group I belonged to in DC (OK, really it was Maryland, but I lived in DC). It seemed that the group always had to have baked goods on hand for a session. I think this is a very American thing! I would have been quite happy with a cup of tea.

  4. Liz, that's probably why we are the nation with the obesity problem, myself included. Wish all of you could have been here. I'd have given you a cup of tea, Rudee a glass of wine, and whatever Stephanie wanted to drink too! We're going to do another Craft OV again around the end of November/first of December. My plan is working!
