I was sitting in my yarn room last night and Gracie decided it was time to explore the bookcase.

Winter Weather
Jim Cantore is in town, so you probably know what that means: a winter storm is headed our way. We are under a blizzard warning, which seems a bit excessive, but apparently it's the high winds, along with an estimate of 8-12 inches of snow that qualifies as a blizzard. I know that doesn't seem like a lot of snow compared to many areas of the country, but our region has almost no budget for snow removal, so it will effectively shut us down for a few days.
As I was talking to my students and coworkers about the weekend, I realized the snow really wasn't changing my plans that much. Other than cancelling a tutoring session, I'll be doing pretty much the same thing as I would have done without the snow! Lounging around reading and knitting was my plan anyway.

I am so jealous! We haven't had any snow in weeks. However, we do have lots of very cold weather. Personally, I'd rather have snow.
ReplyDeleteI love snow but we rarely get it, so that may be why I love it so much
DeleteIt is currently 6 degrees here. We have a half-inch of sn*w. I am OVER IT. WAY OVER IT ALL.
ReplyDeleteMy own grey cat, Marlowe, was very slow to become affectionate, and it is a trait of greys. In the past year or two, she has become quite attached, cuddly, and more vocal. And she is going to be seven in March.
Stay warm and safe.
I know very little about cats, as she is my first. I assumed it was from being a shelter cat, but maybe not. She tends to follow me around more than I expected a cat to do. I love her to pieces, that's for sure. As for snow? We so rarely get it that it's always a treat!
DeleteMaybe Gracie was looking to see if there was a story you could read to her! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOr a kitty sweater to knit, :)
DeleteHope things are not as dire as predicted Rose. We are chilly here so you must really be cold.
ReplyDeleteI was lucky I didn't lose power; it's 22 degrees now, at noon, and windchill is 8, which is as cold as we get. Only got 6 inches of snow is my guess but enough to get Monday off! It's been a beautiful weekend so far
DeleteI'm sure everyone down there was in a panic! My husband talked to his brother who was in Suffolk for the weekend...think he got a bit more than you did. It is pretty, but bitterly cold. Love your pictures of Gracie...so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was lucky it wasn't heavy, wet snow, otherwise I'd have probably lost power and wouldn't have enjoyed the beauty quite as much!
DeleteI hope you and yours had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and are having a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. May we display your linked header on our new site directory, SiteHoundSniffs.com?
