I looked outside the window this morning and noticed that we have a lot of flowers blooming. Even though the forsythia and daffodils are finished, we have a lot going on in the yard. Steve has been planting roses ever since we moved here three years ago and he refers to them by their botannical names. This one is Therese, using the French pronunciation. I can't believe this lilac. He just transplanted it from one corner of our yard to another location and it now has these gorgeous, lush blooms.

Rose, lilacs were my favorite flower growing up in Michigan. I miss them as we can not grow them here in Florida. My gardenias are just now peeking out, which makes me so happy. Have a wonderful weekend,

I love wisteria even more but it's such an invasive flower. Apparently I'm allergic to the scent of gardenias because if I'm around them, I get a sick headache, migraine like. Weird, huh? So camillas take the place of those for me; although I don't have one at my house, they are popular in this area.
ReplyDeleteLovely flower! We finally have daffodils flowering here. The roses just have tiny buds on them no where near flowering but a good sign they made it through the winter. They are calling for a mix of snow and rain here for tomorrow :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden you have! Can we borrow your Steve for some expertise and encouragement?! We are pretty much overwhelmed by our five acres so we let the dogs, cat and often free ranging hens have their way with it!
ReplyDeleteYes, we were in VA beach and i didn't let you know but i thought of you and how absolutely amazing it is to be able to walk along the beach like you do! Truly wish we could have walked a bit together. I think of you often because you are such an amazing mom - and i love how much your kiddos enjoy spending time with you! I have guilt issues and I just wanted to spend all my time digging in the sand with my kids. Hope we can get together soon though.
Have a safe and wonderful trip to New York and a great time with your girly!
Oh, looking at your lovely flowers I'm reminded that our spring is having a hard time getting started. Your roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAmazing flowers! Oh I am loving the pictures of the lilacs, they are my favorite Spring flower!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your gorgeous garden! Mine is once again covered in snow today.
