If it was a cuter name, nicer even more politically correct it would not have garnered the attention it has. It is a way to reclaim the word, even if it is a word we do not like. While it will have no affect on the President Elect it will in some way show solidarity. If I had one on while marching and saw others with the same I would feel a connection. I would have no fear of going, I wish I could. But I would never want you to do anything that made you really uncomfortable.Mereknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04596140300034854370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5391048348570890883.post-7715476350098424572017-01-12T17:34:47.434-05:002017-01-12T17:34:47.434-05:00I get it, which may be why I'm still in the fe...I get it, which may be why I'm still in the fence. Does it trivialize the situation? Is it just an empty, feel-good gesture? I don't know but appreciate your perspective, so thank you!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00312958345507812508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5391048348570890883.post-3883731298039500872017-01-12T17:33:05.260-05:002017-01-12T17:33:05.260-05:00Thank you for commenting. When my daughter was in college, she started using the c-word as a way to reclaim it but I never liked it. Same with the N-word. Food for thought for me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00312958345507812508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5391048348570890883.post-19670629292622377872017-01-12T15:27:07.394-05:002017-01-12T15:27:07.394-05:00I just addressed this hat over at the Dept. Brave you fixing your Stopover. I am an aging hippie (lol), but not in favor of the hat. First I find the term degrading (no matter how it is used) and I can't imagine that a ton of women in pink hats is going to have any impact whatsoever on the one soon (unfortunately) to be in office. Having said that, I do like the yarn you picked out:)Verahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13189170045283685051noreply@blogger.com
